The defendant was convicted of capital murder. On appeal, the defendant claimed that the trial court committed reversible error by allowing the victim’s wife, a witness, to remain in the courtroom during trial. The appellate court found no plain error in allowing the victim’s wife to remain in the courtroom. Family members of victims may be present in the courtroom pursuant to Ala. Code §§ 15-14-51, -55, and -56.
