Cases | 2007-Ohio-1469(Ohio Ct. App. 2007) | 2018

The defendant pled guilty to theft and was ordered to pay $73,500 in restitution. The defendant appealed, arguing the amount of restitution was excessive and not based on the victim’s economic loss. The appellate court found the amount of restitution was based on the testimony of the victim at the sentencing hearing and that such evidence was sufficient to support an order in the amount of loss testified to by the victim. The order of restitution was affirmed.
