(a) The Tribe, through its Director of Human Services and the ICWT shall establish protective services for children alleged to be maltreated.
(b) Protective services shall be integrated with behavioral health services and shall include but not be limited to:
     (1) Receiving reports of child maltreatment in any circumstances involving child safety including by non-caretakers
     (2) Conducting a screening process for all reports of child maltreatment
     (3) Informing law enforcement of cases representing criminal behavior
     (4) Conducting investigative assessments of all reported cases of child maltreatment focused on the behaviors and
          environment surrounding the child including but not limited to:
          (A) Gathering of relevant facts
          (B) Evaluation of the families protective capacities related to child safety and risk for subsequent child maltreatment as
                well as the physical conditions of the environment in which the child lives
          (C) Evaluation of the familys strengths and needs
          (D) Initial determinations for the necessity of the provision of services and behavioral health needs of the child and the 
                childs household and
          (E) Ability and/or willingness of the family to accept responsibility for jeopardizing issues, to make changes, and respond
               to services as part of a collaborative team process.
     (5) Formulating case plans with clear expectations and goals understood by the families
     (6) Developing specific and collaborative service contracts as a part of the case plan, which includes addressing the
           therapeutic supports and concrete needs of families
     (7) Coordinating and monitoring behavioral health and other services designed to remedy existing problems and prevent
           any further incidents of maltreatment and
     (8) Any other services designed to prevent child maltreatment and support sustainable long range healthy outcomes for
          children and their families.
