Any person who shall attempt or threaten bodily harm to another person through unlawful force or violence shall be deemed guilty of assault and upon conviction thereof, shall be sentenced to labor or imprisonment for a period of not to exceed twenty-five (25) days or to a fine not to exceed Fifty Dollars ($50.00), or both such imprisonment and fine, with costs, and may be required to furnish satisfactory bond to keep peace.
